Apply for a Grant

The AFTEE grant process is designed to be clear and simple in order to facilitate the distribution of funds where they are most needed.  Working with the Long Island Community Foundation/AFTEE Fund,  the grant committee which consists of one representative of each of the five East End towns:  East Hampton, Southampton,Shelter Island, Riverhead and Southold, meets twice a month, or more often depending on the number of grants received.  Grants are reviewed for 501c3 status, best practices and a concise explanation of the program and how the grant money will be used.

Current Grant Focus

Currently, Aftee has targeted fundraising and grants to the Feed The Need
Campaign. Our East End food pantries are working 24/7 to eliminate food insecurity on the East End.  The East End of Long Island is a service economy and with restaurants, bars, landscapers, housekeepers, chefs and thousands of other losing jobs, the number of new clients seeking help through local pantries is staggering.   In addition to established food pantries, AFTEE is also supporting “pop-up” pantries started by other non-profits to assist their clients, as well as creative programs that address sustainability.
